Dr Gary Millar - Executive Director and CEO
Gary has a PhD in Biochemistry from Glasgow University. He started his career with ICI plc, where he held several senior managerial positions. In 1998 he joined the Foseco division of Burmah Castrol plc as Supply Chain Director and was subsequently appointed Operations Director of Foseco Jersey Ltd, a private equity backed MBO, which floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2005. Between 2005 - 2007, Gary was Managing Director of Foseco Steel UK Ltd. In 2007 he was appointed Group Services Director of Foseco plc, and was a member of Foseco plc’s Executive Committee, where he played a key role in Foseco’s merger with Cookson plc. Recently he founded a consulting company A.K Business Management prior to joining Byotrol.
Stephen Falder – Executive Director and Business Development Director
As Business Director for Byotrol Stephen’s role is to ensure that the benefits of Byotrol technology are brought to bear in the most effective and profitable way in the company’s chosen markets. As Deputy Chairman, Stephen uses his knowledge as inventor of the product and a senior executive director combined, to inform shareholders and investors as appropriate and to represent the Chairman when he is in the United States.
Graduated from Kings College London in 1981. He joined H Marcel Guest Ltd as part of the marketing and sales team In 1982 and he was head of the team that started Bradite Paints Limited in North Wales. In1990 he was made a full board director of H. Marcel Guest and spearheaded the development team forming or assisting with the formation of several new specialty coatings businesses, including H M G America LLC. He was a leader of the development program that resulted in Byotrol’s discovery, development and ultimately the formation of Byotrol plc in 2005.
Stephen is married to Christine with three children: Matthew, Sarah & Rebecca. He is Chairman of Community Forest North West, an environmental Charity in North West England and an active member of the CBI and the Institute of Family Business
In his spare time Stephen has contrasting hobbies: from high explosives - he is a partner is a small specialist Firework Display Company to small pieces of old metal - he is a keen collector of Roman and ancient coins and is proud to be a Fellow of the Royal Numismatic Society.
Richard Bell – Finance Director and Company Secretary
Having qualified as a chartered accountant in 1976 and become an FCA in 1982, Richard has spent his career working in a number of market sectors. He has been a Finance Director for both a fully listed and AIM listed companies. Since 2000, he has run his own consultancy business providing financial and general management advice to a number of SMEs in both the private and public sectors. He came to Byotrol in February 2006 to provide consultancy services. He joined the Board in December 2006 as an Executive Director on a part time basis. He continues to maintain some of his other interests including a Non-executive Directorship of a Foundation Trust Hospital and some Department of Health committee work.
